Just when we thought Earthling Ed literally couldn’t reach new heights of genius, he does with taking his thoughtful, restrained, “can’t be disputed” logical yet respectful argument FOR a plant-based, cruelty-free lifestyle from his famous casual one on one conversational format to a New York Times best selling novel titled This is Vegan Propaganda: (And Other Lies the Meat Industry Tells You). The title itself it quintessential Earthling Ed, making you initially wonder what side of the argument he falls on, which allows the person he’s speaking with to come to the conversation somewhat unguarded. Earthling Ed has a quality I’ve always admired. He is capable of staying calm in any situation, despite having the the most infuriatingly frustrating statements flung at him partly because he has such a deep and abiding respect for free speech but also because he never loses sight that someone engaged in the conversation is someone who has the opportunity to be introduced to a new way of thinking that may take root down the road whereas someone who walks away from a heated conversation will never have that chance and so time after time Ed exhibits an almost super human level of self-restraint.
It’s a trait I can always admire, if not always emulate.
